Jeff
Nelson, owner and training director of Mutts & Jeff, LLC brings
a life-long love for dogs together with proven training techniques
that make learning fun for dogs and owners alike. He is a graduate
of The Tom Rose Dog Training School in High Ridge, Missouri, where
he completed a twenty week certification program under Tom Rose,
one of the country's foremost authorities on dog behavior and training.
Jeff's areas of expertise include: puppy selection, obedience training,
behavior modification and problem solving, police K-9 training,
personal protection, schutzhund, tracking, AKC obedience, temperament
testing and agility.
Jeff worked as a trainer at the Colorado Dog Academy in Westminster,
Colorado while receiving an Associate of Arts degree from Front
Range Community College in Boulder, Colorado. Upon returning home
from college, Jeff was hired as the head trainer of the Animal Behavior
Clinic of New York, where he ran both group and private obedience
lessons and created behavior modification programs for aggressive
dogs. He then worked as training director for Dogs by Andy, a leading
Long Island dog training business. In January, 2000 Jeff founded
Mutts & Jeff, LLC with the intention of providing high quality
dog training and handler instructions to the New York City area.
